Netflix got things started early this Monday morning by unveiling the first trailer for the highly-anticipated second season of Marvel's Luke Cage, starring Mike Colter.

Last season, Luke cleared his name and he's become a Harlem celebrity, a hood icon that also keeps the hoods in checks.

A new Luke Cage trailer has been released in addition to a new poster and banner.

Netflix and Marvel shared the official trailer for Marvel's Luke Cage season 2, which premieres on the streaming service on Friday, June 22, 2018.

And while The Defenders Season 2 doesn't appear to be happening, we are going to get a Power Man and Iron Fist reunion on Luke Cage Season 2. But that's the price of widespread fame and notoriety within Harlem, and Luke's headline-making heroism put a giant target on his back.

However, Luke's stunting comes to an end when he is attacked by the villain of Season Two, Bushmaster, who kicks him in the face and declares: "Harlem is mine".

And those words seem prescient after we suddenly see a formidable new foe shockingly knock down Luke and actually draw blood.

The series is executive produced by showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker (Ray Donovan), Jim Chory (Marvel's Jessica Jones), and Marvel's Head of Television Jeph Loeb (Marvel's Jessica Jones).

What do you think of this first look at Season 2? Lucy Liu directed the second season's first episode.

Season 1 regulars including Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard, also make appearances in the trailer. Reg E. Cathey, who passed away previous year, filmed some material for season two of Luke Cage so it's a great way to remember such a prolific and iconic actor.

Luke does remind Misty that, "It's my show".
