  • Elon Musk Has a Plan to Get You Anywhere on Earth in An Hour

LA Metro was apparently concerned about the Boring Company's latest plan for a tunnel in West Los Angeles potentially interfering with their local rail system, but now they say that they will partner with the startup going forward.

During the presentation in Los Angeles on Thursday, Musk showed a video explaining the tunnels.

Musk made a splash on social media and in the tech world early this year after the sale of $3.5 million worth of flamethrowers went viral.

The Boring Company has taken it slow, choosing to build a 2.1-mile proof-of-concept tunnel in below SpaceX's parking lot in the town of Hawthorne. While the executives were sure to distinguish the difference between the "Loop" and the Hyperloop, Musk also theorized that the two systems could eventually be seamlessly connected so riders could travel within the city and between cities with minimal friction.

Elon Musk's transportation system under the surface of LA finally has a name, and it's a play on his other transportation system Hyperloop. The entire tunnel system can even increase deeper down with demand, as Musk points out that "there's no real limit" and that "you can have hundreds of lanes".

The billionaire revealed footage of his Boring Company's exploratory excavation, which will be open to the public and offering free rides within months. Musk mentioned the company is working on probable solutions for both the issues.

"If you build a tunnel in L.A., you can build one anywhere", Musk said, referring to the various challenges the test tunnel would need to overcome in the city, including seismic conditions, methane gas, oil fields, and regulations.

Tesla-driving Angelenos may soon be able to hop out of their battery-powered auto, board an electric pod in a Boring Co. tunnel and get to the port where SpaceX is about to build massive rockets that it aims to fly to Mars.

The government of neighboring Culver City has also expressed concern about how Los Angeles' government handled the project.

"If you concentrate on it, if I can do that journey in about half-an-hour to an hour, I can do dozens of those a day and but a long-haul plane can exclusively make a type of flights a day", she informed the viewers.

Elon Musk's needs to make use of the largest rocket SpaceX has ever constructed to ferry people across the globe, promising passengers the flexibility to get wherever on Earth in below an hour.
