  • Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaks: is this the sequel to Origins?

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed Assassin's Creed Odyssey via a short teaser trailer on Twitter, accompanied by the message, "See you at E3". In the trailer, one character kicks another off a cliff in a handsome setting that looks to be placed on the Mediterranean. Assassin's Creed Odyssey will take players to the handsome cities and iconic history of Ancient Greece as they seek to overthrow Templars, jump into bales of hay and generally indulge in everything else you'd expect from an assassin. "You'll be able to play as either a male or a female protagonist, although the builds we've heard about did not feature Origins' main characters Bayek or Aya, but new heroes".

While we don't know much more about the game at the moment, Kotaku reports that Odyssey will retain numerous RPG elements introduced in Origins as well as introduce a few new ones, such as dialogue options.

The game is reportedly set to release during Ubisoft's 2019 fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2019. The first Assassin's Creed Odyssey leak came in the form of keychains.

It looks like Assassin's Creed will be reverting back to its yearly release schedule.
