The National Weather Service has issued a HEAT ADVISORY for Southeastern St. Lawrence County from Sunday at noon until Monday at 10pm. Because of that, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties for Sunday. It will remain hot and muggy for the rest of this evening. Southwest wind 6 to 10 miles per hour.

The warning, from 8 a.m. Sunday to 8 p.m. Monday, means there is a prolonged period of "dangerously hot" temperatures and high humidity, which could cause heat illnesses, the National Weather Service says.

"The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a unsafe situation in which heat illnesses are likely", the National Weather Service said. The temperature will drop only a couple of degrees along the Lake Erie shore.

WJZ's Meg McNamara said temperatures across Maryland were in the low- to mid-90s Saturday, and it will only get hotter Sunday. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Humidity level is gauged by the dew point temperature, which was just below 60 degrees and in a fairly comfortable range Friday afternoon.

People with respiratory diseases like asthma are also advised to be careful. Take plenty of breaks from outdoor activities in a cool spot, preferably indoors with air conditioning, and be sure to drink plenty of water and stay well hydrated. Combined with humidity, it will feel more like the middle 80s overnight in the metro area.
