  • George Clooney hospitalized after car accident in Sardinia reports

Rome: Actor George Clooney was taken to the hospital in Sardinia and released after being involved in an accident while riding his motor scooter on the Italian island Tuesday, hospital officials said. The video shows what is reported as Clooney's scooter crashing into the auto while another scooter alongside him manages to veer around it.

Clooney was seen leaving the hospital with his wife Amal Clooney in a private auto.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", a representative for Clooney previously told HuffPost. Calls and emails to Clooney's spokesman weren't immediately returned.

Clooney, 57, was riding the bike at Costa Corallina on the island of Sardinia when he was involved in a collision with a auto, according to Italy's TGR Rai Sardegna. Clooney was rushed to the emergency room at John Paul II Hospital, but his condition was not believed to be serious and he was later discharged, doctors confirmed to NBC News.
