Trump Calls Out Mueller for 'Conflicts of Interest'

Legal experts say Giuliani and Trump have a point: there is no federal law or statue making campaign collusion a crime.

Speaking to CNN "New Day" co-host Alisyn Camerota, Giuliani first downplayed the president's relationship with his embroiled former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, who faces charges resulting from the Mueller probe.

The president's comments in a morning tweet appeared created to address widespread confusion over Giuliani's intentions during cable television appearances on Monday.

"I don't even know if that's a crime - colluding with Russians", Giuliani said on CNN.

Later, Giuliani phoned in to Fox News seeking to clarify his earlier comments, telling anchor Harris Faulkner that "it's a very, very familiar lawyer's argument that...the alternative, that my client didn't do it, and even if he did, it's not a crime". "The President didn't hack".

Trump has denied any collusion for months. "He didn't pay them for hacking".

Specifically, Waas writes that a "a confidential White House memorandum" written shortly before Trump made his request to Comey indicates that then-chief of staff Reince Priebus and White House counsel Don McGahn both directly told the president that Flynn was under criminal investigation.

Nevertheless, a debate continued on the Tuesday morning cable shows about whether Giuliani was "moving the goal posts".

US President Donald Trump urged US Special Counsel Robert Mueller to admit conflict of interest in the investigation of Russia's alleged meddling in US elections, led by Mueller.

So far, special counsel Robert Mueller has accused the Russians of hacking into Democrats' computers and stealing emails, as well as trying to stoke US tensions before the 2016 election using social media. Mueller, if he does not like the proposed limits on questioning, could subpoena Trump to testify, setting the stage for a legal fight that could eventually be decided by the Supreme Court over whether a sitting president can be compelled to testify. Richard J. Durbin (D-Ill.) expressed exasperation with Giuliani's media interviews.

Giuliani added that he had said Trump wasn't in the room for that meeting because there were in fact two different meetings.
