Islamabad, Aug 31 Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan today expressed a desire to work closely with Japan to expand bilateral cooperation in all areas, particularly in trade, investment, economic and human development. "We are much better this time", he said, according to journalist Fareeha Idrees.

Khan thanked the Iranian supreme leader's support for Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination and the manner in which Pakistan's Independence Day was celebrated in Iran this year, the statement said, adding that Pakistan and Iran were "connected by inseparable bonds of historic, religious and cultural affinities". He said he had directed National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chief to carry out indiscriminate accountability and take action even if a member of the government is found involved in corruption.

Imran Khan said a permanent mechanism should be evolved to streamline the entire operations of Zaireen in future. He also said that none of his cabinet members had been appointed "permanently" and could be removed from office or shuffled around based on their performance. He said the maintenance charges and pilot fees for the helicopter would be paid regardless of whether or not he used it, adding that there were significant threats to his life that had forced him to move out of Bani Gala. "Ultimately, everything is related to economy, even foreign policy", he said.

Regarding the transfer of District Police Officer Pakpattan Rizwan Gondal, Imran said the Supreme Court had taken notice and it will be provided full information.
