One of the government's concerns is based on the use of Chinese telecom equipment in countries that host United States military bases, such as Germany, Italy and Japan.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, which cites unidentified people familiar with the matter, the States have reached out to Germany, Italy and Japan and urged them to do the same. Countries in which the USA has a military base, such as Germany, Italy and Japan, are of particular interest.

The US might boost aid for telecommunications development in nations that shun Huawei equipment, some of the people said. The U.S. government has also advised its own citizens to avoid smartphones from the Chinese company, saying they could be used to spy on users.

The US government has begun to rally its allies against Chinese tech giant Huawei, fearing its close ties to the Chinese government.

Last month, a pair of U.S. Senator sent a letter to Justin Trudeau, telling the Canadian Prime Minister that he should prevent any Huawei products technology from being used in the build-out of Canada's 5G Network.

US Has Concerns With China-Based Huawei Technologies

Huawei, the world's biggest telecom equipment manufacturer, has always been under scrutiny from USA intelligence agencies for its alleged ties the Chinese government and the possibility its equipment could be used for espionage. In August, Australia banned Huawei and ZTE from providing 5G technology there due to national security concerns as well.

"Huawei is surprised by the behaviors of the USA government detailed in the article", it said.

This comes amid Washington's suspicions that the world's largest telecom equipment maker could be using its equipment for cyber espionage as part of cooperation with Chinese intelligence agencies.

Washington obrashat special attention to those States where there are USA military bases. "If a government's behaviour extends beyond its jurisdiction, such activity should not be encouraged", it said to the Wall Street Journal.
