Before the Mumbai attack, the USA had designated the LeT as a terrorist organisation in 2001 and imposed sanctions on it and the UN Security Council followed suit in 2005.

"I can assure Mumbaikars that the city is safe and police are capable of protecting you from any eventuality", Mumbai Police Commissioner Subodh Kumar Jaiswal said.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said Pakistan should hold those responsible for 26/11 attacks to account.

Paying tribute to those who were killed during the dastardly attack, Mumbai Police tweeted a video thanking those who stood by and defended the city.

The event among others was attended by Basant Sanghera and Jennifer Whethey, Director in the US National Security Council at the White House.

Timed for the tenth anniversary of the 2008 Mumbai attack on Monday, the United States government has announced a $5 million-bounty covering all the terrorists connected with it.
