Patrick McCaw becomes the latest swingman to join the Cavaliers after the Warriors declined to match an offer sheet.

Up until now, the Warriors have been strong on their stance that they will match any offer from another team. McCaw's 2019-20 contract is non-guaranteed for $3 million.

McCaw was sidelined for nearly two months with a bone bruise in his lower back last season after a fall during a game at Sacramento, ESPN reports. Per ESPN's Bobby Marks, keeping McCaw would cost Golden State $11.3 million in luxury tax.

McCaw was sidelined for nearly two months with a bone bruise in his lower back near the end of last season after a horrific fall during a game at Sacramento. The guard refused to sign his term sheet with the Warriors over the offseason and has been without the team for the entirety of the season.

If the Cavs hold onto McCaw, the team can view the rest of the season as an audition and determine whether or not it's worth guaranteeing the second year of his contract.

The 6-foot-7 McCaw averaged 4.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 57 games last season, when he got hurt while attempting a dunk on March 31.
