One, Hemmerstoffer has provided accurate information regarding next-gen iPhone designs in the past.

Forward-looking: 2019 might have just been thrust upon us, but it's never too early to start seeing new iPhone leaks. Suffice it to say, if you thought the camera bump on existing iPhones was noticeable, well, you may be in for quite a surprise when Apple officially reveals its 2019 iPhone lineup later this year.

Apparently this year Apple will be adopting the triple-camera setup on the iPhones. The current render images of the iPhone XI show that Apple is probably going for a camera arrangement reminiscent of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max are still dual-camera phones, but Apple has been known to be late to the game. Above the third camera is an LED flash, and below it is a microphone.

Frankly, I think the setup looks ugly and doesn't seem to borrow from the company's elegant industrial design thinking.

That notwithstanding, it's worth noting that the design above - if at all accurate - will likely be an exclusive on Apple's top of the line iPhone, with Digit noting: "Not knowing the scale at which the image was rendered, it is hard to say which variant will sport the three cameras". It would have been fine until there, but Apple seems to have made a decision to put an LED flash on top of the third camera and a microphone below it.

Some previous rumors suggest that the third camera will be a 3D ToF sensor, but it's still all speculations for now.

The ToF or Time of Flight technology is based on the time it takes for light to bounce off an object to create a 3D map. It still remains to be seen.

Digit believes the render shows one of the higher end devices.

Apparently, the iPhone XI featured in these images is still in its Engineering Validation Test (EVT) phase.
