However, Facebook's outage happened less than 24 hours after Google's ecosystem went down for more than an hour yesterday.

"We're aware that some people are now having trouble accessing the Facebook family of apps", a Facebook spokesperson said on Twitter at 10:49 a.m. ET.

Facebook said they are working to resolve the problems as soon as possible.

We know. Our @facebook and @instagram haven't been working either.

"Account Temporarily Unavailable", was a message that some Facebook users from across the globe discovered on checking their pages.

On the image-sharing site Instagram, one of the most popular social networks among Israelis, users were having trouble reading and posting, though the website seemed worse affected than mobile apps. Users have written in from Canada, Las Vegas, and Turkey to note outages there as well.

There's no need to panic, but almost all of Facebook's services are now facing partial or complete outages, with thousands of users around the world affected, including some of us here at TechRadar.

It is not known if this is a planned outage, a problem with their servers, or if the service is under attack. Users began reporting issues at around 4pm GMT, with full access to the platforms still ongoing.

The outages were reported in the USA on the East and West Coasts, as well as in parts of Europe and in other parts of the world, according to Downdetector.

PIX11 has reached out to spokespeople for the various platforms for more information.
