About 300 law enforcement agents swept across the country on Tuesday to make arrests in what agents code-named "Operation Varsity Blues".

The first to cooperate in the probe, beginning in April 2018, has been identified as Rudy Meredith, head coach of women's soccer at Yale.

Loughlin and Huffman are just two of 50 individuals who have been indicted for paying up to $6 million to secure their children spots in top college universities in the nationwide scandal.

Story will be updated as new information can be verified.

In a matter of months after that meeting in the Boston hotel room, Meredith had resigned from Yale, leaving no hint that he had been implicated in a bribery investigation. Former Pimco Chief Executive Douglas Hodge is due to be arraigned in federal court in Boston, officials said.

"I don't believe that the large contributions are getting people in", said Michael London, a co-author of "The New Rules of College Admissions". They're 16 and 18 years old, and they're good people. Singer outlined the entire scheme and secretly recorded calls with parents who allegedly paid him thousands of dollars to gain their children admission to elite colleges. Singer pleaded guilty on the 12th to charges of racketeering conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, conspiracy to defraud the United States, and obstruction of justice. He faces up to 20 years in prison.

Prosecutors allege that the scheme was headed by William "Rick" Singer, the founder of a for-profit college preparation business in Newport Beach, California.

The actresses allegedly paid money to get their children into elite universities.

Many other cases involved photo fraud, according to Lelling. The list also includes some Olympic sports coaches at the universities listed, and ABC reports that most of the students who benefited from this alleged scheme weren't aware of their parents' tactics. At least two San Diegans were also named in the indictment. Once the student was accepted to the school, her family paid $1.2 million.

The University of Texas fired men's tennis coach Michael Center on Wednesday, a day after federal officials unveiled documents accusing Center of taking up to almost $100,000 to get a student into school by listing him as a tennis recruit. Numerous other defendants live in California.

Boston's USA attorney Andrew Lelling warned that the investigation is ongoing and others could be charged.

"We have not seen the schools as co-conspirators", Lelling said. Several of the colleges involved made no mention of taking action against the students. Several phone calls and meetings, including the one at the hotel in April 2018, took place in MA.

Macy himself wasn't charged and authorities have not said why.
